Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival

Dave Dacy will be returning to Battle Creek for the first time since 2008. It's BARNSTORMING TIME in a modified World War II trainer.

Dave Dacy was born and raised on his parents air strip in Harvard, Illinois. He has been performing in airshows and special events throughout the United States and Canada since the early 1970s.  Dave soloed in an Aeronca Champ at 16 and started teaching himself aerobatics at 20 in a Stearman. He is not only a master pilot, but he is also a master mechanic. Having that job at Dacy Airport as he taught himself aerobatics.

In addition to his over thirty years of experience in the airshow industry, Dave has also lent his talents to movies and commercials, having landed his aircraft on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago as part of an IMAX promotion for the Museum of Science and Industry

Performing on the airshow circuit today in the 450 H.P. Super Stearman, Dave has also performed airshows in a stock 220 H.P. Stearman, a modified 300 H.P. Stearman and the German designed Bucker Jungmeister. As a professional and respected member of the Airshow Community, Dave is an ICAS (International Council of Airshows) ACE (Aerobatic Competency Evaluator). Dave is one of the best pilots in the industry today and he performs one of the most amazing routines in the Super Stearman. 

Dave Dacy performs in the Boeing Model 75 Super Stearman. The Stearman was used as a training aircraft during World War II. This particular Stearman became a Super Stearman under Dave Dacy. Dave modified the aircraft specifically for airshow purposes. The aircraft got modified to include a Pratt & Whitney radial engine, four precision balanced ailerons, inverted fuel & oil systems and an airshow smoke system. Through these modifications, the aircraft became the Super Stearman with 450 horsepower (more than double the original Stearman's horsepower). The aircraft is painted in a blue & white paint scheme with a sunburst design on top of the wings and a checkerboard design on the bottom.

Dave's performance in Battle Creek will thrill the crowd with the best of the airshow industry.
