Dale Wilson Hot Air Balloon Dale "Captain Boomerang" Wilson is from Augusta, Michigan. After crewing in the 1981 World's Championship, he bought his first balloon in 1987. He has been a licensed balloon pilot for 25 years and has 462 hours as pilot-in-command of a balloon. He is retired from AT&T. His wife's name is Lori.

His mother-in-law came up with the name of his balloon "Seventh Heaven". This will be his 31st year participating in the event. Dale's crew consists of members with an average age in the 60's.
